Speaker Bio

Owen Mageau grew up in Duluth, Minnesota and studied political science and journalism at the University of Minnesota. He has worked as a sports reporter for the Minnesota Daily, a contributing writer for University of Minnesota Athletics, and a writer for the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. He also has experience as a tutor of many subjects and will be a social studies teacher after he completes his Master’s in Education at the University of Minnesota.

Growing up on the shores of Lake Superior helped Mageau develop a passion for the outdoors, where he enjoys camping, fishing, and hiking; in addition, Mageau is a sports enthusiast, having played both hockey and football in his youth.
