Your Job Description is Your Ticket to Rapid Career Advancement
Too often people apply for a job, review their job description and file it away. You can’t do that and expect to succeed. Your job description is something you should review monthly and get feedback from your colleagues and your boss as to how well you are accomplishing the tasks that impact their performance. Lorraine will give you proven strategies on how you can take advantage of your strengths to complete the tasks assigned to you.
Lorraine will discuss three important career management techniques.
- Quickly try to learn the “why” of what you are doing and how it fits in with others around you–your team, other teams, your customers.
- Intentionally leverage your strengths–especially those that make you unique.
- Be proactive in building relationships that cross generational lines.

Are you an introvert who feels that, in order to succeed, you have to work really hard to become an extravert?
Early on in my career, I was identified as an introvert which, I learned as I progressed in my career, is a label that can create negative perceptions in the business world. I spent much of my career trying to overcome being an introvert and eventually grew frustrated and exhausted. It wasn’t until I took CliftonStrengths® that I began to understand the innate talents that made me show up as something different than the stereotypical leader and how I could leverage those talents to become a successful and respected leader.
Now I help executives and emerging leaders maximize their strengths and manage their weaknesses utilizing the CliftonStrengths® assessment, individual coaching sessions, and, for an even greater benefit, stakeholder interviews and job shadowing. I then help clients create a customized development plan that focuses on unleashing their potential for improved performance today and progress toward’s tomorrow’s aspirations.
Don’t try to be something you are not. Contact me to begin the journey of identifying, celebrating, and maximizing your strengths!
This is one of my favorite testimonials: “Lorraine McCamley has helped me better understand my Strength Themes and put a plan in place to better express these themes. I really like how Lorraine uses her past work experiences and perspectives to provide advice that comes from the ‘trenches.’ In a world where ‘everyone’ seems to be a consultant, it is refreshing to work with one who has actually been out in the workforce ‘taking arrows’ and then calling on those experiences to bring the CliftonStrengths tools to life. Thank you Lorraine!” Greg I., business owner
