Presentation Overview

You NEED Soft Skills to Succeed! Forget Everything You Learned in College.

Research conducted by Harvard University, the Carnegie Foundation, and Stanford Research Center revealed, 85% of job success comes from having well-develop soft and people skills, and only 15% of job success comes from technical skills and knowledge (hard skills).

WOW! Think about that.

Everything you’ve learned in college (unless you were involved in a STEM program) will make a minor contribution to your career success! How much soft skills training did you get in college?  If you are like most grads, you are probably responding — little to none!

Dr. Habtewold will help catch you up on the critical soft skills you will need to launch and lead a successful career. He will share the following themes/strategies/ideas to help you launch and lead a successful career.

  • Know your passions, strengths, and limitations!
  • Communicate like a pro.
  • Negotiate for win-win deals.
